Tina Deuerer wins the Grand Prix
For five days our "Hetzel Spring Masters" dominated with top-notch show jumping at our venue. Among other things, no fewer than six classes between 1.40m and 1.50m were offered. The show almost turned into an "Eckermann Festival" if it hadn't been for the fact that on the last day, the Grand Prix went to a rider from Baden-Württemberg.
Tina Deuerer from Bretten, Baden-Württemberg, was unbeatable in the 1.50m class. The German champion of the year 2022 and her 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding Clueso were one of eleven pairs who completed the first round faultlessly, thus qualifying for the jump-off. However, the jump-off in the very demanding course ended curiously. None of the participants delivered a faultless round. With four penalty points for a knockdown in 38.64 seconds, the 45-year-old show jumper could celebrate the victory. Second and third places went to Lennard Tillmann (RC Gut Neuhaus Grevenbroich) with Oreal Des Etains Z (four penalty points in 39.71 seconds) and Katrin Eckermann (RFV Kranenburg) with Zoe Blue BTH (4/41.62).
For Eckermann, the third place in the Grand Prix marked the conclusion of an outstanding performance at the "Hetzel Spring Masters". Already on Thursday, she won a 1.40m class with the Oldenburg mare Qualtissima PS. Shortly before, her father Ottmar had taken second place in 1.40m class for seven- and eight-year-old horses behind the winner Christina Gierlich (RFV Südlohn-Oeding) with Zalando with his horse Comilio. In the two 1.40m classes on Friday and Saturday, the winner was Katrin Eckermann each time. She achieved this on Friday with the Westphalian Casalco son Cascajall NRW, who was the world champion of six-year-old show jumping horses in Lanaken, Belgium, last year, and she secured the victory on Saturday with Qualtissima PS and also took second place with Zoe Blue BTH. Before the Grand Prix on Sunday, there was another victory in a 1.40m class for Maja Bleser (RC Gut Neuhaus Grevenbroich) with Cedric.
I am overjoyed because firstly, we had fantastic starting fields and secondly, our team managed everything with great motivation. The weather also didn't let us down. Over the five days of the show, I have been able to see many happy faces among the participants, grooms, and visitors. The quality and quantity of the starting fields were just as we had hoped.
