10. HERO
Pedigree
Hero is a horse with brilliant character. He’s bold and tenacious with the ability retain his composure in any situation.
This gelding has a powerful build, harmoniously proportions and a beautifully soft neck. Despite his size, Hero is impressively light-footed, elegant and supple. He also has a lot of desirable attributes: he’s graceful yet dynamic with a powerful canter and fantastic rideability. The top judges scores he gets have a lot to do with his positive mind-set, sweet temperament and scope. Hero’s jump is also impressive. It is characterised by a powerful take-off, excellent bascule and perfect technique. With this kind of talent and the feeling he gives his rider, it’s impossible to say where this horse’s limits are when it comes to obstacle height.
The five-year-old gelding is currently progressing very well in his basic training programme. He already has 15 registered placings with the German Equestrian Federation, the highest in 1.15m young horse classes, including six wins and five top three placings with scores as high as 9.0.
As expected, there are several equine heroes in this horse’s pedigree. Manchester van’t Paradijs was the licensing champion and highest-scoring stallion in his 70-day test. He went on to be a much-acclaimed sport horse for his rideability, fast responses, bold attitude and brilliant character. Manchester van’t Paradijs has some of the best performance horses in the world in his lineage. His sire, Elvis ter Putte, has three world-famous stallions in his pedigree – Diamant de Semilly (Eric Levallois), Darco (Ludo Philippaerts) and Quidam de Revel (Hervé Godignon) – and the damsire Kashmir van het Schutterhof was no stranger to the international show jumping scene. Cellestial is a top sport horse sire that enjoyed an international competition career with world-leading riders such as Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, René Tebbel and Andre Thieme. His sire, Cantus, is another excellent breeding stallion with many top-level show jumpers among his progeny. Holstein stallion Landprinz back in the third generation contributes “fighting spirit, enormous scope and an exceptional character” to the pedigree. He was a successful sport horse, produced many excellent offspring and had a top reputation as a breeding stallion.
Hero – an epic sport horse.
