This is sure to delight equestrian fans from the region: Internationally acclaimed show jumper Marcus Ehning will be competing at this year’s Hetzel Spring Masters on Pfalzdorfer Buschstraße. The exceptional talent from Borken will take part both on Friday, April 25, in the challenging jumping competition (1:30 p.m.), as well as on Sunday from 2:30 p.m. in the prestigious Grand Prix, an 1.50m class, with a jump-off.

For decades, Marcus Ehning has been at the very top of the show jumping world. His impressive list of achievements includes, among others, team gold at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, numerous medals at World and European Championships, three World Cup Final victories, several German Championship titles, and countless wins in major Grand Prix events. His stylistically elegant yet precise riding excites both experts and spectators alike.

The Hetzel Spring Masters, held at Holger Hetzel’s facility in Pfalzdorf, is known for its top-class show jumping. Every year, it attracts leading figures from the equestrian scene as well as a knowledgeable audience to the Lower Rhine region. This year’s edition will be given a special highlight thanks to Marcus Ehning’s participation.

“We are very proud to have Marcus enriching our tournament. He is truly a figurehead of German show jumping,” says organizer Holger Hetzel. Whether Marcus Ehning can prevail against the strong international competition remains to be seen. One thing is certain, however: spectators can look forward to top-level sport in a family-friendly atmosphere—with free admission.
