Good day for Sophie Hinners

With Uriel she the second qualification, and with SMA Disney, secured second place in the qualification for seven and eight-year-old show jumping horses - this is a very good 'haul' for Nations Cup rider Sophie Hinners (Pfungstadt). While the 26-year-old skillfully showcased the young horses from the Will, Vogel, Hinners Show Jumping Association at the Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters, her colleagues headed not towards the scene, but towards the Seine in Paris. Sophie Hinners was pleased with the adventurous Uriel.

Alert and Curious

'He is a naturally quick horse and can already apply that very well in the course,' Hinners noted. She has been riding the Holsteiner gelding since he was five years old and appreciates his willingness to perform and pleasant character. 'But he is still a bit of a child and very alert,' said the trainer, 'he has escaped before and then looks around a bit.' However, his leisurely strolls through a stable tent aisle are less appreciated by his caretakers. Both the first and second qualifications were completed flawlessly by the son of Uriko and his rider, so they are ready for the final on Saturday at 3:00 PM.

Behind the winner Johannes Ehning (Stadthagen) and the Holsteiner mare Kira II, Sophie Hinners and the Diaron daughter SMA Disney placed. Ehning's seven-year-old sport partner Kira II is a family product: bred by Judith Gölkel, a long-time owner of many Ehning horses, the mare's father is Marcus Ehning's successful horse Comme il Faut. Kira II is owned by Nybor Pferde GmbH & Co. KG, with Andrea Gölkel, the mother of the breeder, also being involved.

Jonte Hansen and Maverick made the long journey from northern Schleswig-Holstein, and it paid off - the rider and his five-year-old gelding won the second qualification for five-year-old show jumping horses with a score of 8.6.

Flying Higher - Hinners' Teammate Richard Vogel

Richard Vogel, who was originally supposed to be at the Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters in Goch, changed his plans due to the tight schedule for the Olympic Games' opening ceremony. Fortunately, he made a thorough decision, abandoning the initial plan to travel to Paris with his teammates by train and instead flew from Frankfurt. He was then the only one from the show jumping team to greet friends and colleagues in Germany from the Seine.

With three competitions, a comprehensive wellness program around the course, and the 'Flanders Foal Auction' as a special highlight, Saturday will feature a unique highlight at the Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters in Goch. Visitors are warmly invited to a relaxing and stimulating day at the Hetzel Equestrian Center in Goch."
