Former auction horse Beauville wins bronze at the Olympic Games
Beauville Z N.O.P. (auction horse 2016) has once again proven his class as an absolute world-class horse: At the Olympic Games in Paris, the fourteen-year-old gelding won the bronze medal in the individual competition with his Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten! Only three pairs managed to complete the 1.65m high and long course without faults, among them Beauville Z and his rider. This is the third individual medal at a Championship for the pair within three years and, notably, the second Olympic medal for the pair! This speaks for an extraordinary team effort and great management.
Congratulations to Maikel van der Vleuten, his entire team, and the owner Marta Ortega Perez.
In 2016, the then six-year-old gelding was sold under the name "Stay with me" at our Sport Horse Sales and has since developed into a world-class horse. Beauville Z had already stood out at the auction due to his exemplary work ethic. He was purchased at the time by the young amateur rider Gabriela Rogar Ibars (Spain), a student of Maikel van der Vleuten. He, in turn, recognized the extraordinary talent of the horse and, with the support of his sponsor Martha Ortega, promoted Beauville Z to an international top show jumping horse with an exemplary track record, including:
- Two bronze medals in the individual competition at the Olympic Games (Paris 2024 and Tokyo 2021)
- Bronze medal at the World Championships in Herning 2022
- Team silver medal at the World Championships in Herning 2022
- Nations Cup victories at CSIO5* level with the Dutch team
- Multiple wins in Grand Prix at CSI5* level (1.60m)
- Wins in Global Champions Tour Grand Prix
- Awarded as "Global Champions League Horse of the Year"
- 85 wins and placings in international 1.50-1.60m classes
